2023 WASSCE for School Candidates Registration Timeline Out
The 2023 WASSCE for School Candidates Registration Timeline has been released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Per the official details released by WAEC and sighted by Examhall.org, WAEC has commenced processes for the registration of all final-year SHS students in both public and private SHS for the Secondary School leaving examination.
According to the WAEC Timeline, The Briefing of all Heads of Schools is to be done from February 27th to 3rd March 2023.
The registration of final year students for the 2023 WASSCE starts on 7th March 2023 and ends on 14th April 2023. During the registration, WAEC expects schools to register candidates and pay the approved fees for the examination.
The cost of registration for students enrolled in private SHS will be the responsibility of parents. However, the cost of the examination for all final-year students in public senior high schools will be paid by the government of Ghana.
WAEC has also indicated that late payment of the examination fee will attract a 50% penalty of the registration fee per student.
Schools are to note that, from 1st May, the WASSCE 2023 entries for candidates cannot be uploaded on the portal. However, schools that want to make corrections to already uploaded data can do so from 1st May 2023.
The correction period ends on 5th May 2033 for all schools. After the grace period, any other corrections such as those relating to the names of candidates and their photographs must be referred to the nearest WAEC office for action. This must be done in record time to avoid any challenges.
From 8th May to 18th May 2023 WAEC shall initiate the confirmation of entries phase of the WASSCE registration. During this period, “Downloading of individual Statements of Entry for confirmation by schools” will be done, the details of the timeline from WAEC indicated.
All schools are required per the directive from WAEC to submit all data relating to the examining council so that the closing statements of Entry reports can be submitted to the Controller, SEAD, WAEC in Accra, and or to Branch Controllers.
