In a related development, teacher unions are mounting pressure on the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to ensure that the new academic calendar to be released aligns the SHS calendar with the basic schools.
The call among other things is to ensure both teachers and learners in the second cycle schools have adequate rest periods during vacations.
Effective, 3rd October, the new academic calendar will begin and will be in line with the pre-COVID-19 calendar of the school which ends in July/August each year.
