New Dates For 2024 WASSCE And BECE

Did you know that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has changed the date for the 2024 WASSCE and BECE?. WAEC has released a new date for the exams.

According to WAEC, the 2024 WASSCE will now take place from August 5 to September 27, deviating from the previously announced dates of July 1 to August 31, 2024.

WHAT ABOUT 2024 BECE?

The 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Date remains unchanged. The exams will be written in the second week of July, 2024 (8th to 12th July).

It should be noted that the updated WASSCE date was communicated to regional directors through a circular to all regional directors. Regional directors were urged to inform all heads of senior high schools (SHSs) about the change and to prepare candidates accordingly.

The decision to revise the date, although without an official reason, aims to provide candidates with ample time for preparation. Despite the adjustment, the examination process and conditions remain consistent with those of other member countries of WAEC.

2024 WASSCE Registration Date and Deadline

Registration for the WASSCE-SC is open from March 11 to April 19, 2024. Furthermore, WAEC assures that the results will be released on time following the revised examination schedule.

The 2024 WASSCE Timetable is officially not out. WAEC is yet to release the results. This year’s WASSCE will be written in a period of 2 months.
